This past week, we have lost a member of the Mac Shop community and a dear friend. Kasuku, the african grey parrot and trusted sidekick of Peter B. Kaplan, has been part of the Mac Shop community from the very beginning of opening our storefront. Always spritely and conversational with every visit, he always brought smiles to the faces of friends and strangers alike.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Peter B. Kaplan and his family during this very sad time.

Kasuku, you will be missed.

So after I installed Lion, one of my biggest issues was the vertical scrolling has been completely reversed. This came about because it makes sense on the iPad and iPhone and to some extent, a trackpad.

I know apple has never been a fan of scroll wheels on their mice, but I got to tell you I have alway found the scroll wheel on the mouse to be an essential part of the mouse interface and I am having a very hard time getting used to vertical scroll being the opposite of what it has been hammered into my brain for the past 15 years or so.

So the question is: How do I change it back to the way I am used to.

It’s a very simple fix, Just open up ‘System Preferences’ and goto the ‘Mouse’ panel and uncheck the option at the top labeled “Move Content in the direction of finger movement when scrolling or navigation.”

(You can also achieve this by unchecking the “Scroll direction: natural” in the Trackpad panel)

Steve Jobs personally went in front of the Cupertino city council to announce Apple’s plans to build a new campus to house their going employee population. The new campus is about 100 acres and will have just one main, four story, circular building to house 12,000 employees.
